            The Malaysian Media Council Bill 2024 was introduced to reinforce
            governance and ethics within the national media industry. The proposal
            to establish this body dates back to 1973, but was only approved by the
            House of Representatives in February 2025, marking the government’s
            commitment to media freedom and professionalism.
