Economic Growth in the Second Quarter of 2024
Exceeds Expectations
GDP growth of 5.9 percent compared to 4.2 percent in the first
quarter of 2024 exceeded the Bloomberg consensus median
projection of 5.8 percent.
Malaysia’s trade volume grew by 10 percent to RM705.6 billion.
The value of the ringgit strengthened by 0.2 percent against US
dollar (RM4.7175).
Around 190,00 new jobs created.
Unemployment rate remains low at 3.3 percent.
