RODUCTION
The vision of the ministry is to be the leading authority on national defence with a mission to ensure
the management of national defence is always efficient, prepared and dynamic. The Ministry of
Defence is thus committed to achieve its objective to protect and defend the national interest which
is the cornerstone of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and economic prosperity of the nation.
The ministry sets the direction to remain focused and steadfast in ensuring the preparedness of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) to be Full Mission
Capable, furthering the wellbeing and welfare of members of the military including ATM veterans, reinforce strategic network and diplomatic relations
particularly amongst the ASEAN nations and also globally while enhancing integrity in financial and procurement conducts. This is to ensure that the
Government has proper and sustainable planning in governing the country.

DEFENCE WHITE PAPER (KPP)
The Defence White Paper (KPP) is an open document that outlines the
Government’s direction in formulating a long term strategy to protect the
national interest and defend the sovereignty and integrity. KPP was drafted
for a period of 10 years (2021-2030) encompassing the 12th Malaysia Plan
(RMK 12) and 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK 13).
KPP has charted a new path in the management of national defence which
is more transparent and exclusive in line with the current leadership style.
Minister of Defence presents the Defence White Paper (KPP) for the first time on
2 December 2019.
