RODUCTION
The vision of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) is to spearhead the transformation of an
integrated, efficient and safe transportation system by strengthening the transportation system
driven by technology as a catalyst for national development.
MOT’s roles include planning, formulating and implementing land transport, logistics, maritime and aviation policies. In addition, the ministry also
plans and implements infrastructure projects for land, logistics, maritime and aviation transport while spearheading the integration of a holistic
transportation system.

COMMERCIAL SECTOR REMAINS THE FOCUS OF
MINISTER OF TRANSPORT DURING LIMA’19
Malaysian Prime Minister YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad officiated
the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2019
(LIMA’19) on 26 March 2019. As with the previous years, the event which
took place from 26 to 30 March 2019 saw the commercial sector remaining
the main focus of the Transport Ministry. Meanwhile, the Ministry of
Defence focused on the defence sector.
LIMA’19 was held at two separate locations, namely Mahsuri International
Exhibition Centre (MIEC) where aerospace exhibition took place, and
Resorts World Langkawi which housed the maritime exhibition. Countries
which took part as exhibitors include Turkey, Russia, United Kingdom,
