launch of the SSLR project was officiated by the Ministry of Works,
YB Baru Bian. The project is now in the early construction work stages
and is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2020. This project is
expected to take up to 48 months and expected to be completed in 2024.

The scope of the SSLR package 1 is to build a new road based on a 2-way
single road (2 lanes single carriageway) according to JKR R3. The Ministry
of Economic Affairs (MEA) on 9 August 2019 has approved RM 1.2 billion
and the project will be implemented through Design and Construction
concept.

OPENING OF TELOK MELANO-SEMATAN HIGHWAY
PROJECT PAN BORNEO SARAWAK
The opening of the Telok Melano-Sematan, Sarawak Pan Borneo Highway
offers a great opportunity to develop an ecotourism hub. The 33km route,
nearby the east of the Samunsan Wildlife Sanctuary as well as the Tanjung
Datu National Parks, which are tourist attractions.

The Pan Borneo Highway project for the Telok Melano – Sematan
Expressway was initiated on 15 September 2015 with an estimated cost of
RM 580 million and was completed on 4 January 2019. The project was
officiated by YAB Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari
Tun Abang Haji Openg, Chief Minister of Sarawak and YB Baru Bian,
Minister of Works.

Kilometer 0 is the starting point of the Sarawak Pan Borneo Highway in Telok Melano.
