RODUCTION

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) was established in April 1956 and is
headquartered at the Government Offices at Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur.

In February 1972, the ministry was renamed the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Then, on October 27 1990, the Ministry was further divided into two separate
Ministries, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN). Following the
separation of the two ministries, the formation of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade Cooperatives
and Consumerism (KPDNKK) was established.

ANUGERAH KECEMERLANGAN INDUSTRI (AKI) 2018 YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister And YB Datuk Darell, MITI Minister
with AKI 2018 Winners.
The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) organised
the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri (AKI) 2018 or the Industry
Excellence Award to recognize outstanding Malaysia companies which
have achieved a certain level of excellence in the area of product and
services.

The AKI, through BEF, aims to encourage and showcase companies,
especially domestic companies, in the manufacturing and services sector
to continuously improve management systems as well as quality of
products and services.
