the country include coral reefs, which
rich in various forms of life. The coral
reef community is considered one
of the diverse communities in the
world. Coral reefs that have existed
over 450 million years have become
the richest marine ecosystem. It is a
habitat for more than a million marine
living species. The fish density in the
area is 100 times higher compared to
the wide sea. Among the marine flora
include phytoplankton, seaweed and
sea grass.

Freshwater habitats such as the
tributary that flows slowly and river
of high tide can provide shelter to a
variety of aquatic invertebrate fauna
and various types of fish. Marine fauna
include fish, cuttlefish, squid, sea
urchins, giant clams, sea cucumbers,
copepods, sergestidae shrimps, arrow
worms as well as other big and small
organisms. Freshwater fish is among
the famous fish in Malaysia and it
consists of arowana, silver catfish,
tilapia, carp, toman and snakehead.
The habitat of deep sea fish in Malaysia
is very attractive with a variety of fishes
such as lionfish, also known as zebra
fish and clown fish.
