The name “Kelantan” is said to have come from Agriculture Mining &
the term “gelam hutam”, which is the Malay name Quarrying
for the Melaleuca leucadendron tree. There are 23.8%
also those who say that the name is derived from 1.1%
the word “kilatan” or “kolam tanah”. Kelantan is
also known as Tanah Serendah Sekebun Bunga,
Tanjung Pura, Negeri Cik Siti Wan Kembang
and Serambi Mekah.
