In the olden days, Pahang had many names. Agriculture Mining &
Chinese writers mentioned it as Pang-Hang, Quarrying
Peng-Heng, PangHeng, Pong-Fong, Phe- 23.6%
Hang and so on. In 1225, Chao Ju-Kua wrote 2.7%
a book called Chu-Fan-Chi. In it he says
that among several of the states that were
conquered by San-Fo-Chi was the state called
Peng-keng. Peng-keng was the state of Pahang
Darul Makmur. Arabs and Europeans of the
past called it Pam, Pan, Phang, Paam, Pao,
Paon, Phaan, Paham, Fanhan, and Phang. A
