gerah Perdana Rukun Tetangga 2018 Ceremony 7 | SUMMARY OF MINISTRIES
The National Anugerah Perdana Rukun Tetangga 2018 aims at recognising the
management of neighbourhood committee and its sub-committees who have
excelled and contributed significantly to the implementation of community
activities. This regular programme was last held on 24 January 2015 at Bankuasi
Hall, Sabah State Legislative Assembly. This year, the award ceremony was held
at Al-Jazari Hall, Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Sultan Abdul Aziz, Shah Alam,
Selangor on 20 October 2018. Eight categories were contested including one new
proposal which was the Anugerah Perdana Rukun Tetangga. The list of
categories is as follows:
Neighbourhood Committee Management Neighbourhood Management
Voluntary Patrolling Scheme Management Of The Eldery
Women Neighbourhood Management Best KRT Innovation Project
Young Neighbourhood Management Best KRT Economic Project
The objective of the programme is to give credit, recognition and appreciation to
the KRT community who have successfully turned their areas to become viable,
effective and self-reliant in line with the goal of its establishment, as well as to
encourage the active participation of local KRT in community development in
creating a resilient, initiative society who enjoys better quality of life. It would also
create excellent and quality KRT and serve as a benchmark or model for all KRT
nationwide, in addition to making KRT a driving force and a leader in ensuring the
safety of neighbouring areas besides fostering a sense of social responsibility
amongst the local residents.
The programme was officiated by YB Senator Tuan Waytha Moorthy Ponnusamy,
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department. Also present were YB Datuk Wira Dr.
Md Farid bin Md Rafik, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, YBhg.
Datuk Baharin bin Idris, Director General of Unity, Head of Federal and State
Departments and members of the Rukun Tetangga Committee.
