ernational Firefighters’ Day Celebration 2018 7 | SUMMARY OF MINISTRIES
The International Firefighters' Day is an annual event celebrated by the Fire and
Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM). The event, themed "Fire Rescue Pillar
of the Country", was held on 14 July 2018 at Seremban Municipal Council Field.
The show began with an inspection of the honorary regiment by DYMM Yang
di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum
Tuanku Munawir, followed with a parade of the contingent members, fire-fighting
showcase by 'Special Tactical Operation and Rescue of Malaysia' (STORM) team
and parachuting by JBPM smokejumpers.
The parade involved 28 contingents and 95 units and a participation of over 2,200
people from various public and private sectors such as HAZMAT and CBRne
teams, High-Rise Rescue Team, Fire Department Airborne Division, Water
Rescue Team (PPDA), Detection Unit (K9), Road Accident Rescue Team (RTA),
Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), 3K Club, Army Firefighters, Port
Firefighters & Airport Firefighters. The event was also filled with parades of
firefighters machinery such as Dennis's car, two units of Amphibious All Train
Vehicle (AATV), Rapis Resques Vehicle (RRV), 24 units Rapid Intervention
Motorcycle (RIM), two units of Aerial Ladder Platform Turn Table (ALPT) which is
the department's latest asset in addition to the MI17 type aircraft carrying the Fire
Department flag and the Jalur Gemilang during the event.
