SUMMARY OF MINISTRIES ACTIVITIES IN MINISTRY OF DOMESTIC TRADE
AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS

Consumer Economy Shop Programme Initiative (i-KeeP)
Consumer Economy Shop Programme Initiative (i-KeeP) was launched by YB
Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Domestic Trade and
Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) on 29 November 2018. The implementation of
i-KeeP is through the strategic cooperation of the Government with capable retail
companies without any financial assistance from the Government. Six companies
have become i-KeeP's strategic partners through their own retail outlets. They are
Tunas Manja Group (TMG Mart), KK Supermart & Superstore Sdn. Bhd (KK
Super Mart), Segi Cash & Carry Sdn. Bhd. (Fresh Supermarket), Felda Capital
Cooperative (KPF) Malaysia Berhad (D’Mart), Perak Berhad Government
Cooperative (SKOMK) and Big Supermart Sdn. Bhd. (BIG Supermart).
Goods sold through i-KeeP are focused on basic necessities such as sugar,
cooking oil, flour and rice. To date, the collaboration with production companies
and strategic partners of i-KeeP has successfully listed over 100 types of branded
daily necessities as i-KeeP products. Additions to the i-KeeP product list will be
constantly made through surveys of products and markets to consumers across
various media channels.
Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS) will continue to play its main role to ensure
the implementation of i-KeeP operations and at the same time help the
government monitor the performance of all strategic partners from time to time. In
addition, PNS will also undertake a series of purchases based on i-KeeP goods
and supply chain management systems and centralised sales systems for this
initiative.
